Science Tutoring Programs

While we have experts on our team that can help with almost any K-12 or college science course, our most commonly requested courses are high school biology, physics and chemistry. We also regularly work with families to create science enrichment programs for students that are ahead of their classmates and “catch up” programs for students that have gaps from earlier science courses.

Biology Tutoring

High school biology courses cover an array of subjects and topics and are offered at different levels for students, including Advanced Placement and Honors courses. Tutors help students master various biology concepts by building upon the student’s latest level of proficiency. Students will master areas such as cell structure and function, genetics, evolution, body systems, ecology, and biochemistry, among others. Our tutors develop an individualized plan of study that meets each student’s needs. Read More…

Physics Tutoring

Denver Test Prep physics tutors help students to master key concepts of physics, including graphing, dynamics, properties of sound and light, characteristics of electricity and magnetism, and more advanced focuses such as kinetic theory, thermodynamics, optics, heat, and high energy physics. Students will learn to apply these concepts to real world situations through laboratory and mathematical analysis. Read More…

Chemistry Tutoring

Denver Test Prep’s experienced chemistry tutors help students build a strong foundation for all conceptual levels of chemistry and provide students with knowledge about the fundamental assumptions and structure of chemistry systems. High school chemistry courses include extensive laboratory work in-class, and our tutors work with students to prepare them to successfully apply key concepts and topics during their lab work. Topics include, but are not limited to, states of matter, chemical bonding, the periodic table, electron structure, thermochemistry, liquids and solids, molecular geometry, equilibrium, acids and bases, oxidation-reduction, equilibrium, electrochemistry, nuclear chemistry, and organic chemistry. Why do I need to learn science?

Science is a focus of study for many college majors and a critical area of knowledge for careers in a variety of fields such as engineering, medicine, forensics, research and technology. However, science is still an important knowledge set for students who don’t choose to major in science-heavy areas of study or explore science-based careers. Science study helps to develop and sharpen critical skills such as problem solving and critical thinking. It’s also essential to understanding societal, world, and economic issues that impact our everyday lives. Science and technology evolve rapidly, and having a strong understanding of basic science helps students to integrate, understand and hone skills needed to be competitive in our ever-changing workforce.

“I really liked that my tutor helped me to develop my own pace, but challenged me to increase my stamina in answering questions. In a sense, my tutor helped me feel comfortable with myself when prepping, which in turn helped relieve the nervousness that I often feel when taking tests and ultimately resulted in an improved overall score.”
